It appears the banking sector crisis that led to the collapse of nine banks has trickled down to the micro level affecting the operations of Susu collectors.
Interactions with some stakeholders in the susu collection business have shown that confidence in their operations is fast going down due to challenges in the financial sector that got funds of many savings and loans companies locked up in banks.
According to them, most susu collectors have connections with savings and loans companies, as well as microfinanace companies who are required to use banks for clearing their cheques.
The banking crisis has however resulted in many susu collectors getting their funds locked up in savings and loans companies.
